The task:
figure out how to use a "phone call" over a G phone into something so that you can get internet access through that phone call (kind of like the old school modems did).
Suggestion: call into a skype connection, use that like a modem somehow, use it like a proxy.

should allow web browsing with "native" links.

I suppose jruby is ok, anything that works on android.
The skype api might be useful.
You might be able to call into a virtualbox instance running skype for the connectivity.

I'm still up for this if anybody is interested...
